2017/09 September ORCHIDS Magazine

Cheryl Erins exposes us to the wonderful jewels that make up the genus Barkeria. These beauties from Mexico and Central America aren't seen all that often today and it's really a shame. They are easy to grow given modest attention to the wants and wonderfully floriferous.

The Chadwick's present another in their ongoing series First Ladies and Their Cattleyas. This month describes Cattleya Edith Bolling Wilson, named for Woodrow Wilson's second wife. For our growers of angraecoids, Brenda Oviatt and Bill Nerison offer up a wonderfully illustrated comparison of Aerangis fuscata, monantha and punctata. Last but certainly not least, Rudolf Jenny discusses Pescatorea and Gustav Wallis.
