The September issue features the third part of a five-part series on modern artificial light and growing orchids authored by Kelly McCracken, owner of High Desert Orchids in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Also featured in the September issue is the second half of a beautifully illustrated article on Paphiopedilum fairrieanum and its hybrids, a feature article authored by Piotr Tuczapski about his work with Lepanthes - fungal relationships in the Monteverde Reserve, Costa Rica and an article on the discovery of Paphiopedilum helenae by Olaf Gruss and Leonid Averyanov. This issue also features an article on Carl Friedrich Schmidt authored by the late Rudolf Jenny. Mr. Jenny unfortunately passed away prior to completion of the issue.
