Our May issue features two articles on Asian cypripediums. Stig Dalström and his collaborators in Bhutan introduce us to the cypripediums of the mountainous "Land of the Thunder Dragon" and Judith Rapacz-Hasler, Tom Velardi and Winqing Perner owner of Hengduan Mountains Biotechnology Nursery, discuss the cypripediums of subsections Cypripedium and Macrantha in China's Yunnan Province and their hybrids. Completing our features for the month is another in the Chadwick series "First Ladies and Their Cattleyas," this featuring Rhyncholaeliocattleya Grace Coolidge, named to honor Grace Anna Goodhue Coolidge, America's First Lady from 1923 to 1929.
